Ms. Pym has done a superb job of recreating the life and times of merchant Sir David Kirke and his wife Sara during the 17th century. Based on actual events, the story takes place both in London and Newfoundland and is part of Books We Love’s Canadian Historical Brides Collection put out in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday.

Sara's life was as fascinating and tumultuous as the coast of Newfoundland. The story was captivating, rich in details, and well-researched. A page of Canadian history missing from the books I read in school. Well done!
