I could almost feel the sea spray misting my face as Vanessa Paris sailed across Puget Sound and hear the splash of water as the crab pots were hauled in and the day's catch tallied. Oh, yes, and the rustic mailboxes with wild blackberries growing nearby. What a lovely place to live. And I got to visit there for a while."

This was a light, pleasant read, with an interesting mystery. I enjoyed the author's descriptions of the San Juan Islands. They put you right in the story. The romance seemed to be rushed, where I like a slow burn. The relationship between Clinton and Ruby could have been more fully developed. A nice beach read with local flavor--and I really wanted to know what happened to Vanessa's father.
