Buddy-read with Layla! Go check out her review here !! and yes, for the record, i 100% agree that cardan's tail deserved more

So.

Funny story.

Somehow, I got it into my head that this book was about (view spoiler), and that alone. In my head, the first book was the first book, the second book was about (view spoiler), and the third book was about (view spoiler)

Dear Holly Black,

I'm very mad at you right now.
You think it's okay to mess with my heart? To make me fall in love with characters that don't exist? To make me fall for an absolute jerk? To make me root for a power-hungry devil of a girl?
Also, remember that ending you wrote? Yeah, I'm not happy about that either. It's just not polite to do that to a reader!

And yet, thank you.
Thank you for bringing this masterpiece of fantasy into my life, even if it shattered my heart into pieces. Thank you for

Woah.
I was a little hesitant to read this book because I didn't really like The Cruel Prince , but boy was I wrong.

IT WAS AMAZING!!!!😍😍😍
Definitely a huge difference compared to the first book. I loved The Wicked King .
Jude is sooooo much cooler and funnier than I expected.

"She frowns at the knife in my hand, the freshness of the wound. "Did you do that to yourself?"
That snaps me out of my daze for a moment. "Yes, I shot myself with an arrow."

I love Jude.😂
And that ending....... omg I can't be

“Pain makes you strong, Madoc once told me, making me lift a sword again and again. Get used to the weight.”

Okay wow , let me first talk about that ending , THAT ENDING. This ending was honeslty so unexpected and such a twist on the story [ where holly black is like the master off lets be honest ] and while i readed it , i was so shocked , like how could this happen and those endings are actually the best even tho you hate them you can't

Here's my five month late review because I suck at this Goodreads thing! So um yeah sorry...

What was that ending.

Okay. I shall lose my mind over the ending of the book at the end of this review because why the heck not??? Anyways, I want to start with an extremely nit-picky complaint:

the titles.
You see, the titles sorta give things away. Not completely but it does take the shock factor off of certain twists. THERE’S A REASON TITLES AREN’T RELEASED UNTIL THE PREVIOUS BOOKS ARE RELEASED.

But with t

Was this better than The Cruel Prince? Yes.
Was it epic? Almost but not really.

Okay, so I enjoyed this one much more than I did the first one. Truth be told, I was getting bored at the beginning, I find that the books in this series take a little to kick off, but once I passed the 35-40% mark I couldn't stop reading. I mean, I finished this last night at 3am.

I liked that there was more court politics in this book and I really like the story in general, but there are just things missing for me to

I tried to insert a gif, but it's not working, so imagine a very confused anime girl instead.

I am not going to attempt to write a proper review, so, instead, I'm going to compose a list of things I can't believe:

I am so confused about my feelings for this series. It’s weird. I always go back changing my rating = P.

I don’t ship Jude & Cardan. (-)

The stakes were higher in this one. (+)

More BLA BLA BLA to be added (or not).

sooooo... i finished this within a day, despite uni deadlines piling up. i don’t think i’ve ever finished a book so quickly. the first 100 pages bored me slightly, but boy, did the rest of the book make up for that. i am OBSESSED. i LOVE cardan and jude. the world of faerie and the storyline has me completely enchanted. the plottwist had me every. single. time... i know this is one of those book series that’s going to leave me feeling empty and depressed after finishing it.

description

This book must be full of glamour because I immediately fell into Elfhame and found myself appreciating all the characters, even Madoc.

Jude remains one of the best political strategists I've ever read, whether fantasy or fiction but even she learns in this book that keeping power is harder than acquiring it. Plus, her growing relationship with Cardan was so fun to follow as she alternatively finds herself wanting to strangle him and kiss him.

We also get to le
