Clean, concise and very clever it lives up to Dean M Drinkel's reputation as an award-winning master storyteller. Maxime and Lea are inept kidnappers for whom things don't go particularly smoothly, resulting in arguments, cock-up's and the unexpected death of the victim Rousseau. This in itself would produce a fitting comedy of terrors in the right hands, yet this story is given extra depth by its homage to Edgar Allen Poe's the murders in the Rue morgue.
