Okay, y'all.... don't come for me but..... this book is not 5-star material. 😂 Like, don't get me wrong, I had a great time reading this! I read it as part of a buddy read in a group, which was very fun, and we all got to complain and theorize together.

This was such a great book! My only (minuscule) problem with it was that I think it would’ve worked better if told in first-person, but again that was just a minor thing I didn’t like.

I enjoyed this book, it was really intriguing and I loved to get to know what really has happened.
Characters were awesome and I loved how different characters felt. Atmosphere was also sometimes scary and I loved that feeling. But I hasn't noticed beforehand that there was one animal death included and that made me feel so bad for awhile. I liked how there was scenes with Pip investigating and chapters where we saw Pip's notes. Notes could have been written better, they were sometimes struggle ...more

I really like the premise of this book. A girl starts her own investigation to a murder that happened several years ago. However, I didn't like the narration. All the interview transcripts, emails and messages annoyed me after a while. I just don't like that kind of thing in books. The characters lacked depth, especially Pip. I wasn't able to connect to her or any of the other characters. The plot was a bit unrealistic. This book just wasn't for me.

The book follows her story as she investigates the disappearance of a girl Andie Bell, who is deemed dead and Sal Singh is declared the murderer, who is dead too.
