I know at one point I knew that this book was published in 2019, but I forgot it along the way and was surprised when I realized that, yes, this book was in fact published in 2019. It has a very late-2000s YA vibe to it. And that's not bad! That's actually exactly the vibe I was craving! And I'm an absolute sucker for Beauty and the Beast retellings.
This book started off quite slow for me, almost at a 2-star level. But as the story progressed, I found myself warming to it a great deal.
