Nonfiction memoir of the girls (most aged 14-17) that worked painting clock faces and military dials with uranium paint. The story is infuriating, heartbreaking, and disturbing. Many of these young women died within ten years of their work with radium, long, slow painful deaths. The book talks about what happened to them and their fights for justice and recognition that their illnesses were caused by radium poisoning.
