Now this is how to write a biography! I recently read a biography of Paul Dirac that glossed over his achievements and highlighted his personal relationships. If you know anything about Dirac, you would know how absurd it is to focus on his personal relationships. The author could have at least given his achievements equal billing. Not a historical figure I was familiar with. The early part of this book struggles. And the rest of the book was uneven. I'm not a mathematician. Or an inventor. Or really an engineer. But still finding a way to show more of what was actually done for the physical inventions would have helped me better understand. I'm glad I read this, but I can't say I enjoyed every page. ...more
