While this is a fun book, much of it seems to be quite obvious, and covered in numerous other books. This is especially true for the first half of the book, which is titled "Alone". I did not need to read, for the umpteenth time, how an engineer at 3M invented post-it notes. Likewise, it is so obvious that some of the most creative people are those whose expertise spans multiple areas.

Jonah Lehrer’s book examines the notion of imagination and goes beyond the idea that imagination is simply a personal aptitude. Instead, the book argues that while personal skill and hard work are key factors to imagination, what really leads to creativity, thought, and innovation are largely situations in which one’s imagination is facilitated. Wonderful book. Lots of interesting stories about creative people and how they tap into their creativity. I found it interesting that the larger a business gets the less creative (and the less money) their employees bring in - something a few businesses I know should take note of :)
The importance of the right brain as demonstrated thru different studies was fascinating to me - and how people who have lost some ability in a region of the brain compensate.
