This is another beautiful little book from Stewart that is packed with a devious collection of bugs, beetles, spiders and other crawlies that have made a name for themselves as a scurge to local humans (again mostly in the US but there are still some examples from elsewhere, not to mention a shout out to the Old World inverts taking on the New World) through poisons, toxins and good ol' fashioned destructive behaviour. No story line or plot in this book. Just one or two paragraphs about many different bugs. There are lots of odd life cycles and dangerous creatures out there. Interesting.
I wish I could give this book 3 and a half stars - that would be perfect. I love Amy Stewart and while this is a good book, it isn't as good as some of her earlier ones - it didn't seem as in-depth as others. Regardless, I enjoyed it and it had the good side effect (just like watching Hoarders does) of making me want to clean!
