A truly fascinating, accessible book about the plasticity of the brain. Most interesting to me were the clever approaches that some psychologists invented, for solving or mediating various mental/physical problems. Although this book is not of the "self-help" variety, it contains a number of approaches that have been used for improving brain functioning. ...more

This remarkable book is about brain plasticity, a complex subject told in language any reader can understand. There are so many ways in which a human brain can repair itself and ways in which it can learn to do things differently with help from knowledgeable people. The book shows us many case histories to illustrate what worked and why. Most of us probably know someone who could benefit from the information here.
