Hobbs followed the experiences of a woman and her 6 children to write this book. While I enjoyed the book, and thought the author did a great job at balancing the positive and negative attributes of the people he portrayed, I felt there was something missing from this book, though I can't quite put my finger on what it is.
I've read a lot of books on poverty, homelessness, etc., though, and still managed to learn a few new things from this one.
