This was my first re-read of the year and it sure didn't disappoint.
I know I love Jude and Carden and re-reading their story and desperately waiting for their moments is just too good to describe.
This book takes me through so many turns that it was difficult to keep up. I am falling in love with a character in one chapters and hating that same character in the next. It is absolutely mind boggling.
I love this world and Holly Black's writing!!!

Wow I loved this so much !! I went into it without any expectations and only knowing that it wasn't really a romance (at least in book 1). That was the best decision because I had so much fun ! I absolutely love this book!! It has a beautiful amount of fantasy, romance, and adventure. There are a couple of plot twists too ;) I can't wait to read the second book!!

I love the plot twist where Locke betrays Jude because I absolutely didn't expect it and I thought that Locke was a good guy but NOW I WANT TO KILL HIM. Also at first I shipped Locke x Jude but when I read more I realized that Locke is a fucking jerk and Jude belongs with Cardan.

To be honest, inspite of all the hype this book has gotten, i was bracing myself for a total disaster after all the negative reviews i have seen about this book. I personally found the book quite enjoyable. The plot was interesting, even though the book was a little slow. I liked the dynamic of the characters. This book was my introduction to booktok and got me out of a three year book slump after reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
The book is heavily political but it exceeds at all the other standards too. The main character is powerful and strong, there’s lots of representation, the characters and plot are all so well developed, and the world building is phenomenal. This is one of my favorite books ever!
