Quite a fun book with a very good heart.
I was initially dubious, fearing that the fun would be at the narrator's expense, and that his romantic efforts would be played for mean laughs (ha ha, desperate-to-date women with high BMIs!) but as the novel progressed Don was presented as a more complex and sincerely likable character; I enjoyed getting to know him and spending time with him. A very funny book. It reminds me a bit of a number of academics I know. I could not put this book down. More review after the book discussion in two weeks.
