The orphan train bit of history is new to me and quite interesting. I felt for Niamh/Dorothy/V. It was rather heart-breaking and yet inspiring to read about her story and how she dealt with being an orphan passed around. The parallel story in the modern time was not as good, but when they came together and V was able to find out the fate of her various family members presumed dead or gone, it was nice. A nice tale with a happy ending. Not very raw, though such a tale could easily be raw.
