[Note: each time I re-read it, I add a little note, scroll down for my first review - title is in bold].

Can't believe I haven't mentioned yet, but Zahra is iconic. There are so many strong female characters, but Zahra and Shaan are the goals!

Already had a Kindle version, but when I saw a paperback for £5, you know I just had to get it. And of course, I just finished re-reading it... again (probably won't be the last time).

Third time reading in less than three years and I'm blown away yet again

i honestly don’t know why i read this…i don’t like history or politics. i guess because it was so hyped up? (also—if you’ve gotten about 30% into the book and still don’t like it, that’s around when things start heating up, so maybe try sticking around for a bit longer to see if you really want to DNF it. i was super close to not finishing it at that point, but it got better right after.)

overall, this was a good book, just really overrated in my opinion.

A fun light read. Well intentioned but easy to see that it was written by a women. It still tugged at all the right strings.

“You are,” he says, “the absolute worst idea I’ve ever had.”

This was a fascinating read, as I usually go for the fantasy genre. I absolutely loved it though. It was such a new experience to not have witches or demigods as a highlight, and instead focus on the love story of a fictional Prince of Wales and a fictional First Son of a fictional female President of the United States. I cannot reiterate how much I loved each character and each word that was ever uttered.

In an instant of sudden,

So cuteeeeeee. The book is definitely better than the movie because of course. I do not know why they changed the dynamics of Alex's family, it hurt the movie because it impacted him as a character...but oh well. Who am I to talk to the producers of amazon. But this was such a sweet and slow and sappy romance that just makes you giggle and smile then cry and curse. Its a rollercoaster of emotion, entirely. Also, I really want the actors to do a graphic audio of this book, I would die. That is al ...more

Is this book perfect? No, there are things that don't entirely work. But I really enjoy it, enough that the little flaws don't bother me in the slightest.
Alex and Henry's emails to each other always give me goosebumps. The historical references and quotes are so perfect and actually got me to go on a few google rabbit holes to understand them deeper. The history nerd in me was so, so happy. The lawyer and political nerd in me was totally enamoured with the international relations of it all, and

I have no idea why I had such a hard time reading this book (considering that I have started and stopped 3 times previously) but after starting a third shift job and getting headphones and an Apple Watch I decided to explore audiobooks and it was one of the first books I seen that was on my to be read pile that I seen in the books app. So with a download and nights working to listen, I devoured this book in no time. It was the first time I have ever listened to an audiobook and this book was an ...more
