This book was one of the most leisurely reads I had this year. The story flows seamlessly, and even if it’s not the plot itself that keeps the reader glued to the page, the prose does. The book doesn't get the last 1/2 star because I thought TJR 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 toward the end. She tied in all the loose ends too easily. Nevertheless, I will be reading more by this author. ...more

Starting this book its giving me major Marilyn Monroe vibes. I am already falling in love with the characters, and at first I was like wait this is not the perspective of Evelyn Hugo but I think and hoping it will gradually go towar

Ugh. I cried, so immediately it’s a 5/5 for me. So glad I FINALLY got on this Taylor Jenkins Reid train. Her writing is so lovely and paired with her intricate and complex characters, I just want to read everything she has ever written.

Official: I will no longer read books published by this author because they are completely hyped up in my opinion. My expectations for this book were so high for all of the gas it received only to realize I could have used this as toilet paper during the initial stages of Covid. The only good sentences came at the end when it challenged my philosophical view on love and marriage but outside of that ..... this was an absolute waste of my time.

💍The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo 💚

3/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I got this as my March pic for #botmclub after rave reviews. This is another book that I did not hate but I did not love either. It was okay/good, Evelyn was a very complex and human character that I appreciated. The story kept me intrigued and wanting to read but still fell a bit flat for me. I felt the book was a bit predictable and anticipated a couple of the “surprises” before they happened in the book. This is one of those books that think

It has been a while since a book has gripped me and intrigued me so much. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a book I would certainly recommend to many of my friends, even those who cannot easily grasp timeline jumps. It was a wonderfully executed book, with a plot line that kept me on the edge of my seat. It does take a bit of time to read. However, it is entirely worth the time. Not only that, but I left the book with some life lessons which will always stay with me regarding marriage.

I didn't like the main character at all. She was too superficial for me, and only cared about getting rich and famous. She uses people and doesn't care who she hurts to get what she wants. She changes who she is just to please society and those who are using her. ...more
