What Members Thought

This was an easy and fun read. I’m easily sold by witty banter + strong female leads.
I do have to admit, that after reading Gentleman Bastards, every other pirate related story falls a little flat. So either Scott Lynch set the bar high or maybe my next pirate books stays out of YA.
Alosa’s magic is interesting, but her power reveals sometimes felt abrupt or terribly convenient. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to gobble up book 2, because I’m curious where Levenseller is headed with this co ...more

The Daughter of the Pirate King must steal a map from an enemy ship, the only thing stopping her is the hot first mate.
This book feels like it was written by someone with a checklist and thought, "I know how fantasy books work," then we ended with this. Let's organize this a little better, shall we?
