This is an absolutely wonderful book, and one that I have gone far too long without reading. I've experienced a number of adaptations since I first read this, and while they were often good, I really appreciate getting to read this again to see the fullness of Austen's original version. There's a lot of good stuff that gets left out for pacing and other reasons in adaptations. I listened to this when became available free on Audible and I was between commute listens. Then I wrote a very insightful review about how my attitudes towards the various characters have changed since my first reading and how Darcy is at least as much a male fantasy figure as a female one, wet-shirted Colin Firth notwithstanding.
