I found this to be a fascinating and enjoyable read, if a bit disorganized at times. The idea of starting from the present and working backwards to try to find the origin of vampires is a neat one, but while individual chapters are largely presented in that order, the contents of each chapter jump around a fair bit in a somewhat confusing manner. It might have been easier to start by discussing where vampires are now, jumping back to what Jenkins views as the beginning, and then move forwards fr
