This is a hard book to rate. For young adult readers I would probably say 3.5 stars but from an adult point of view I would have to hover around a 2.5-3 stars.
Unlike other YA books which I thought appealed to adults as well as young adults in the writing style I felt like this one was definitely geared just towards teens. There were some parts that made me cringe and the story was somewhat simplistic. If you can get passed that and just go with the flow it wasn't a bad book.

Vampire Kisses is a great book with characters everyone could seem to relate with somehow. Raven is the outsider, not afraid of who she is. Her lover ALexander hides a secret (him being a vampire) from his love. Billy, Raven's brother fights to be himself while his sister tears him down for it. This is ultimely a great book. It is also a refreshment from other vampirre books that have twisted and modified the meaning of a vampire

um it was addictingly lame tho

if you like twilight you will LOVE the vampire kisses saga also.
Good vampire series.
Even if the idea of a goth chick of all people getting the vampire was a little... cliche in some ways, it was still good.
After all, it's not the awkward new girl (Bella) but the goths who dedicate their lives to getting near a vampire!
Anyway, I really liked the story, it was fast paced with likable characters and Raven and Alexander's relationship worked. It was like Raven was the protector emotionally, and Alexander physically.

An awesome, awesome, awesome book! The chemistry between the two main characters was perfect. The mysterys are wonderful. The action is good. The main character Raven is a really cool kid. If she were real I would definetly be one of her friends!
I absolutly LOVED it! I am kinda obsessed with vampire books and this was no disappointment. If you have read the Twilight Series then you will love this series!
