I've got to say the second book is excellent. The first book was good, but this was a solid notch up and has me starting on the third book right away.

I'm enjoying the two year breaks between books too. That's a great way to handle a series that has a young character as a main focus.

I found this second book to be more enjoyable than the first seems because it seems like Mr. Butcher pull more of the action style from the Dresden files to play through out the book and the characters this time seemed more approachable than in the first book.

I'm finding myself liking "traditional fantasy" less and less (I blame Goodkind) and like urban fantasy more and more.

This book is a nice exception. The world is really getting fleshed out, and while I still like his Dresden Files better, this series is begin to occupy a little more of my "mindspace." And the ending really sets up some events that show that Butcher has a clear plan for this series and that it should only get better from here.

A great sequel to the first book. It doesn't move quite as fast as Furies of Calderon, but because you already know many of the characters it is equally as fascinating. The more I learn about Tavi, the better it gets. Therefore I was very pleased with the epilogue specifically in this book. ...more

A GOOD story. Very densely written and hard to put down. Frustrating to read only during lunch hours. It's a book you must take home and read until the eyes fall shut. ...more
