It’s probably a bit odd that I hate political themed books when they’re set on earth…but throw political drama onto another planet or into space and I’m hooked. I think U.S. politics are just a bit too real-life for me with all the drama in our government now days but as a big fan of Sci-Fi’s, I love reading about different planets governments and the politics involved in them trying to work together.

While I would personally categorize Winter’s Orbit as a Sci-Fi book with Romance rather then sim ...more

sci-fi intrigue with a dash of romance.

A bit slow to start, and the miscommunications bugged me, but the intrigue and danger ramped up and things moved quickly. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Keim was lovely. I adored him! Jainan was a bit tragic but i loved his strength. This is a new to me author and I’ll definitely read book two!

I read the version on AO3, but this was even better. I liked the conclusion, I loved the bear, (and the doves), and I found the relationship growth a good side bar to the mystery. I'm hoping for more books in this setting.

And I reread it again because it was just what my id wanted. I really like Kiem.

I was worried going into reading this but quickly realised it was going to be a fun ride. I really enjoyed the two characters and how different their voices were within the story. Sometimes it can be hard to tell who is talking but that wasn't the case with this book. None of the twists were particularly surprising but I enjoyed the world-building and will be keeping an eye out for any more set in this universe. ...more
