"There are those who seek me for a lifetime but never we meet,
And those I kiss but now trample me beneath their ungrateful feet.
At times I seem to favor the clever and the fair,
But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare."
oooh this one was WONDERFUL! What an amazing twist on Beauty and the Beast. If the Beast were not just a beast...but Fae. How can you trust a Fae heart? Knowing that every word they whisper is tricks and their food is just another game they play.

REREAD again LOL 4/18/25
My daughter and I decided to reread this series. I have reread it with numerous groups before but never with my daughter who actually introduced me to this series or author for that matter. I never mind rereading this series. I think it's one of my all time favorites of all time and it's like visiting an old friend when I decide to reread the series.

I loved this book. I'm not sure what else to say really. I loved how I was on an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end. Feyre was so prickly, so narrow-minded and so difficult to start with and her circumstances were so terrible that I wasn't sure I could keep going, but once the romance started, and then the development of the characters and the trials and...well...I'm somewhat breathless. Because I listened to it, I think that emotional reaction was heightened, but really this book wor

Reread May 2025 (I didn’t even realize I was reading this almost exactly 8 years later until right now!): My rating remains 3.5 rounded up. I feel basically the same as I wrote below, but it was so interesting this time knowing how much my opinions of several of these characters changes by the time we get to later books. Lucien is still by far my favorite character in this book. I didn’t mention last review but I also really love Alice. I listened to the new full cast audio and it was such a gre

This was still a 5 star read for me. It is such an engrossing read. Feyre is strong because she has to be, and I think that's why I find her so relatable. I do think that she was an enabler for her family though. I didn't like Nesta at all. She was such a b*tch to Feyre and for what? I would have understood acting that way toward her father, since he basically let his daughter take responsibility for the family instead of stepping up more.

ACOTAR is a series. I heard a lot of good and not-so-good things about it. But I want to judge based on my own reading. The truth is I just finished the "A Court of Thorns and Roses" and the truth I like for now. I know that I will continue with the series. The plot was fairly typical, but this didn’t really take away from the story.

Feyre hunts to supports her sisters and injured father. One day she kills a wolf which she soon finds out was really a fairy. The fairy Tamlin takes Feyre off to his estate in exchange for her taking a fairy life. The first half of the book is very slow with Feyre mainly trying to get back to the human lands. Events pick up in the second half of the book and it interested me enough that I plan on continuing the series.

This story started so slow for me and I almost lost interest. Is was pretty sappy at the beginning. The last third of the book I thought was great and now I want to read the next installment to learn more about Rhys!
