Bardugo's story telling is phenomenal in this book. The first time I read it, it took me a while to get through it. It wasn't exactly something that I would normally pick up then, but it helped me come out of a long reading slump. This time around, I devoured it in almost a single sitting--I didn't expect to enjoy the book so much the second time. It's dark, gritty, fucked up....and everything else along those lines that you can think of. Alex is such a thorny character that you grow to like and
