Superb! Like nothing else Bardugo has ever written. I think many of us are agreed that she writes superlative YA fantasy, but this is darker and, as intended, more mature. It crosses genres- murder mystery, thriller, paranormal and occult, fantasy, ghost story. LOVED it! It makes me excited to see the direction in which Bardugo’s writing continues to develop.

I've seen different reviews from 1-5 stars, but personally I have to give this one 5 because I think that Leigh Bardugo is a masterful storyteller. His writing is incredible! I can see why this book was voted as Goodreads Choice Awards Adult Fantasy Winner! In fact, that's the main reason I read this book.

I must say that this book has quite a bit of dark and graphic scenes in it, but they are "tastefully" done (if that makes sense). Obviously, I didn't like the types of atrocious things that occ

2 stars. I don’t get the hype for this one at all. I loved the writing style, but I was expecting that going into it because Bardugo is a wonderful writer. However, her characters (outside of The Crows) just don’t stick with me and Alex Stern was no different. I couldn’t stand that girl and she tap danced all over my nerves for 400 something pages. She’s a pain and a try hard and so unlikable. I never grew to care or like her therefore I didn’t care about anything she was doing or had going on. ...more

Awesome book. Never thought I could get into a fantasy sci fi book before but this book really makes me love the genre. Can’t wait for the sequel.

I absolutely adored this book.
I have not read any of Leigh Bardugo's YA novels. But this book sure makes me want to.
This is Bardugo's first adult novel and touches on very sensitive subject matter, eig rape. For some I know that might be reason alone to not read this book. However I feel it was put into the story for a reason and was not just done arbitrarily.
This book is about entitlement and the sense of power over someone else. It is about one girls desire to want to do the right thing dam

Not the worst. But most certainly not the best. Having read Bardugo's works, this had a lot of potential. But as a current college student, I couldn't get past some of the writing. I honestly like her YA series more. ...more
