Oh how I want to visit Virgin River and order a drink in Jacks Bar! I adore this series, and the towns inhabitants. Every time I read another book in the series I feel like I am even more of a part of the community.

The books are full of brave military alpha male types who have all served in the forces and strong minded women who make them fall to their knees. This book was no exception, after loosing her Husband when he is injured in Afghanistan, Marcie Sullivan sets out to find one of the guys

I was not expecting to be as emotionally invested in this story as I was. Virgin River is my dream community, but I didn't know Marcie or Ian until this book.

The thing is Marcie had me captivated from the beginning. She was a young woman who lost her husband tragically, and she was determined to find Ian who was her husbands best friend, Sergeant, and mentor.

No one, and I mean no one was able to dissuade her from her path. During this search she finds Virgin River which has been a savior for m

Having read 2 other books in the Virgin River series by Carr I knew I was in for a good read. Marcie is the young widow of a Marine who's husband was gravely injured during the war and Ian was the man who carried him out alive. Marcie views Ian as a hero who gave her enough time with Bobby to say goodbye. Ian doesn't see it this way and seeks out solitude in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. After Bobby's death Marcie goes out in search of Ian....to thank him and make sure he is ok. Ian wants no ...more

First of all, A Virgin River Christmas is the first book of the series without a baby. Yes, Marcie and Ian fall in love quickly, but it doesn't bother me because they have a common denominator: Bobby, Macie's decided husband and Ian's dead friend. They know each other through stories and letters.
The author, Robyn Carr, knows how to write heartwarming, small-town romances that explore the complexities of love, loss, and redemption and those who crave a slow-burning, emotional journey

It took me ages to find this book (in the end I had to special order it) but it was worth it. This book was incredibly sad but so full of hope too. It was very emotional for me. Robyn Carr has introduced two new characters for her readers to care about.

This book had a novella feel to it. Read it in one sitting. We meet Marcie who is on a mission to find Ian her deceased husband's best friend and man who saved him from the Marines. She is stubborn and determined and in the end brings him out of his shell and helps him live again. This was a feel good story. This story made me laugh several time. ...more
