"This can happen to anyone."
This is a book that is hard to define. It's about women and relationships. It's about bullying and children. It's about helicopter moms and absentee dads. It's about marriages and friends and ex-husbands.
It's about people. Real people in a small town and one big night that alters them all.
Most of all, I love that this book shows that even the perfect things have cracks. The perfect couple, the perfect hous ...more

Madeline is divorced with a teenager and two younger kids from her second marriage. She's friend with Celeste, a beauty with twins and a seemingly perfect life. They both befriend Jane, a single mom. All three have kids starting kindergarten. From the beginning you know someone dies at the schools trivia night but it takes most of the book to find out who. I liked all three women and their stories. I think the events of the trivia night were a bit of a let down considering all the suspense leadi

What if your young son was accused of bullying? Would you agree or not? Life at kindergarten and a high priced school, is told through 3 women's perspectives. I enjoyed this book and didn't see the twist.

Another great book from Liane Moriarty.
I love how she takes the typical "chick lit" characters, like mommies in a suburb and really builds a whole web of mystery and intrigue. These women will never be as one dimensional at the end of the book as they are at the beginning. The more you get to know them, the better the story gets.
I really liked how the quotes from the police interview that started the chapters gave you more insight into the main characters and all the drama of the school mums.

Yet, another wonderful read from Liane Moriarty. Set in Australia, the book is set in a six month time period. The story revolves around an elementary kindergarten class. One of the students in the class is a bully and has targeted one young girl. The new student in class is accused and the parents begin to join groups in support of the young boy's mother and the young girl's mother. This problem extends out into the larger parental population. In the background secrets begin to unravel-secrets

The rating for this book is actually more than three but not quite 4. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. The author had great characters that were sometimes larger than life but still believable to me. She did flatten out her characters at the end in order to wrap things up nicely for the reader, but the tone of the book hadn't been heavy and serious and so I think wrapping the story up in a nice neat package worked for this particular story. She dealt with some heavy issues and gave m
