From Below by Darcy Coates is a book I really enjoyed. I've been told I need to read this author so many times and I'm glad I did. This story is so atmospheric and claustrophobic you can practically taste it. If you're a fan of The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling, Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes, Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie, or the Netflix series 1899, I have a feeling you'll enjoy this book. I have to read more from this author soon. ...more

The last week has been rough and I neglected my reading. This weekend, I took it upon myself to take a step back from life and just enjoy small things, and this book is one of those things that I enjoyed. It is October currently, which is normally my favorite month of the year. I love all things spooky, and this book fit right into that love of spooky things.

This was an ok thriller. It was more horror-lite than a thriller, but I liked it. Not too scary (which is good because I don't have the stomach for most of the true horror genre). Enjoyable to listen to while doing my spring cleaning. ...more
