I liked it because it is light and funny. They were eating so much pizza that I had to ordr one. I could not put it down,untill I read the last page.
On a personal note, there is a lesson here for us all about the untapped potential we have to do more than we think we can.Taking on a major goal is the starting point. I thought I had read this book before but I did not remember it. I love Stephanie Plum. I have read a few of the books that stand-alone.

We are introduced to Stephanie Plum. She needs a job and decided to work for her cousin Vinnie, as a bounty hunter. I love meeting Ranger and Morelli.

Stephanie decides to take on the Morelli case since that has the largest payout. This book was entertaining and the fact that it takes place in nearby New Jersey is nice.

Interesting first book in the series. Stephanie Plum becomes a female bounty hunter due to money problems. Spin on the detective or police officer tales.

I find this series overrated. I'm not a fan of Stephanie's "wing it and look that wasn't so bad" attitude. I don't like slapstick humor or funny movies, so this isn't really the series for me, but the numbered book titles are great for reading challenges. And though I'm also not a fan of friends with benefits and love triangles, this is an easy Interesting first book in the series. Stephanie Plum becomes a female bounty hunter due to money problems. * Copy I read had a Plumography at the end with plot summaries, historic moment, new characters and automotive factoids for the first 8 books and it was a great series reference

Dislikes:
* Twisted boxer, Benito Ramirez, is so evil and violent that he not only gives the sport of boxing a bad name, but makes wife beaters look tame

Shelves: series

This series has been sitting on my shelf for a couple years and I just couldn't seem to start it. I think all the talk had my expectations too high and I didn't want to be disappointed. I wasn't. Three stars puts this in the middle of the pack, it was a solidly pleasant book. I like Stephanie well enough. And I like the antagonist, Joe Morelli. The reviews made me look for more humor. Had I read it not knowing anything about it, I probably would have rated it higher. ...more

REREAD 6/25
Still a 3 star but I still enjoyed reading it

It was quick, quirky and overall enjoyable but I did find my mind wandering a bit. I will read a few more because I did think it was funny and a decent book but not a 5 star book.

She is still new at this bounty thing and has her work cut up for her..
