Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto is a charming murder mystery. Vera Wong Zhuzhu runs Vera Wang's World famous Teahouse and her routine is disturbed when she comes across a dead body in her shop one morning and decides to investigate what she is convinced is a murder. I loved this book. Vera is very forthright and determined and she tends to grow on you throughout the book. What an absolutely adorable book this was! Vera Wong is such a great character. I loved how she found a family to love. All those foods she served sounded so delicious. This book brought a smile to my face and left me feeling cozy and delighted.

Recommended: sure
For a cozy murder mystery with an elderly protagonist, for romances and betrayals and secrets abound, for a whirlwind of emotions

Thoughts:
There's so much about this book that was absurd, but it all ended up feeling so organic that I was able to actually believe it. The force of charisma that is Vera was quite something to behold. New author, woot, new backlist, yay!

I really enjoyed reading this because just like the book I read before this one, I’m a sucker for food descriptions and there was a lot here so I was ecstatic!

The mystery was good, I was unsure first of the multiple POVs but it worked for me! I really like the found family theme and when I found out that who I suspected it was had in fact done it (I had a wee bit inkling but hadn’t connected the dots yet), that was heartbreaking.
