The THETIS is a huge multigenerational spaceship carrying the last of humans from Earth. They’re traveling a mega long distance to settle on another planet and hopefully prosper. The problem is it takes multiple generations to get there. The very thought of how large this ship is and how far they have to travel just blows my mind.

The story centers around Sandrine Liet, an Archivist who is not only very good at her job, she loves it. However, she becomes involved in a co

Generations by Noam Josephides is a really enjoyable sci fi mystery/thriller set on a giant 'generation' ship (the Thetis) which is transporting the last remnants of humanity to a new home among the stars. The title comes from the fact that this is a multi generational voyage where entire generations of people live and die entirely in space.

The main character, Sandrine, is a member of one such 'generation'. Her whole life will be lived in space never seeing the final destination. Sandrine works

Where do we go when Earth is uninhabitable? That is the question that hangs over what's left of the human race. Centuries in the future, humans have left the planet Earth in search of a new planet to call home.

Meanwhile, generations of humans are being born in space, living in space, and dying in space, all for what they hope is a brighter future. Their sense of purpose is instilled in them from when they are born, and everyone trusts that everyone else is working towards the shared purpose.

But

This is a sci-fi thriller, and I don't always read much sci-fi, but I find it an interesting genre, when the author creates a world for the reader and brings it to life in a unique and interesting way. I liked Sandrine as a protagonist, and I liked the way she expressed herself. Her narrative helped me to connect with the author's world, bringing it, and the other characters to life. Nyasa was another character that I liked.

As I kept on reading, I felt the momentum building, and this turned out

A powerful and intriguing political Sci fi thriller with a strong and willful female at its core who refuses to bend to political power, but stands firm in the face of adversity when all around her destabilises. Sandrine Liet is young for an archivist but is tremendously smart and talented. She is responsible for keeping the records on board Thetis, which has been carrying the last of mankind on board for eight generations as they head light years on a journey towards their new home. Thetis is a ...more
