This isn't a book with elevated writing or flowery prose - the text is pretty straightforward and easy to understand.
All in all, it makes for a light, fun read and doesn't require much mental effort to keep up with the plot line. ...more

'I think I might die today'

I think this quote sums up the book enterally, you can say it for good reasons and more critical. Overall, I adored this book. I honestly believe this is a revolution in the genre of fantasy, a new guideline in fiction to create books that keep people addicted and only wanting more. The plot restricts you from skimming over words because every reference, every word is pure drugs to the brain. As your mind wanders, the plot guides you through the story with the characte 'I think I might die today'

As your mind wanders, the plot guides you through the story with the character's tensions and conflicts. Just beautiful.

Now for my tangent...

I feel very blank about a hot heavy tangent I usually go on when describing romance books. Or just any book to be honest. The author gets a lot of hate for the ' weak girl meets strong guy' trope, but there is a reason tropes are tropes. Because they are successful and keep us enticed. The balance between Violet (weak) and Xaden (Strong) perfectly fits within this world. There has to be a struggle for the main protagonist for it to mean anything. Its plain book science.
It would be plain ass boring if she knew everything. The world of riders. Strong. Fit. It's boring as bat shit.

Now for Xaden, I do have a slight soft spot for him. Hated Dain from mostly the start. I do have some earned complaints for him. Like why. Whyyyy. Did you have to make it so that he loved her the whole time? Like fuck that ruined it all. I loved how he hated her but grew to her despite their differences. It really pushes a message, as well as keeps the relationship ENTAINING. But no it was ruined for me, destroyed before my eyes. I felt sorrow for the build-up of their relationship for Xaden just to pour over how he liked her from the start. THE DAUGHTER OF THE WOMAN WHO BASICALLY KILLED YOUR FAMILY. I would have fallen for her hard right from the start too, with that attractive death and revenge lurking around her. Idiot.

But their relationship worked, a build of gestures to words to everything. It's something romance authors struggle to accomplish, but a fantasy author absolutely nails. Something that I can praise her for and someone I would recommend to learn from if aspiring to write romance books. Well Done.

My ending review sentence. Pretty damn good. A book to change fiction (especially fantasy) for generations of writers and readers alike. Can't wait for more. ...more
