I would like to give it 4 1/2 stars. Nell is found on a dock in Australia. She is adopted by a family. On her 21st birthday she finds out that she is not who she thinks she is. After her death her grandaughter finds out that she has inherited a house in England. The book goes back and forth in time, place and narrator. Everytime you think you figured out something else changes.
I wanted to really like this book..but perhaps am being too analytical
when looking at the characters and plot. Too many years of Nell missing from the tale, therefore could not understand why Nell didn't search for answers once her "father" told her the truth?? Too many questions for me about Nell!! ...more
