I really wanted to not like this.
First, this was my very first CH book, and I had some qualms before even flipping the cover. The only reason I read it is bc Morg said I would like it and we always trust book club members.
Second, the Ellen DeGeneres thing is hella cringe. The writing as a whole tended toward cringe tbh.
But even after all of that, I kind of think it’s an important book. Especially since CH is more likely to pull in readers.

Wow
I honestly don't know how to rate this. It's so different from what I normally read.
And objectively, without bringing my feelings into it, I think this would be a 5-star read, simply because of how well written it was, the character development, the dynamics the flashbacks brought.
Also, Lily was so realistically written in terms of her emotions and actions.
There was enough levity in it for the book not to get too heavy (apart of the parts that were supposed to be heavy of course). Not that ...more

So, this was my first Colleen Hoover. Ever. And…
It was incredibly average for me as a story. But..
I really really really really like her writing.
The subject matter is serious and it was a nice break from all of the fantasy I read this year. Yet, I really don’t like these characters and that was my biggest problem.
The whole time I felt like I was watching a lifetime movie. I’m not trying to undermine the perspective that the author lent on this subject matter. It was interesting to explor ...more

If I had a lot of people read my reviews, I would be scared. Fortunately, this is not the case. So, let me explain to you why this book is not it. First, let me tell you a naked truth (even though no one ever asked): this book was boring. And here’s another naked truth: I LOATHE those two words with a fiery passion now. Disgusting. Overused. Not sexy whatsoev ...more

This was my first CoHo book. I’ve heard from everyone that this one shatters you and they weren’t kidding. I went into this a bit blind and didn’t expect this book to be what it was if I’m being completely honest. But this book is raw, emotional, heart breaking, and healing all in one. So glad this was my first book by CoHo. And I can’t wait to read more about Atlas in the fall.

I really wanted to love this book. I had seen so much hype about 'It Ends with Us' on booktok and I was so excited to read it. It unfortunately just didn't live up to the hype for me.
The characters (except Atlas) felt one-dimensional and not fully fleshed out. Parts of the writing felt clunky, cliche and emotionally forced. I think my main gripe with the novel was that the characters and the plot felt unbelievable. The seriousness of the topics explored just didn't match with lack of depth disp ...more
