In this adult high fantasy novel we follow a few different characters but mainly 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘆𝗮 and 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶. Malini is an imprisoned princess being held captive by her dictator of a brother. Priya is a maidservant who works at the location Malini is being held at. They end up teaming up to try and break Malini out, (and get revenge of course).

I will admit that it took me a second to get fully invested in this book but wow once I was I couldn't put it down.

Morally grey lesbians using each other to reach the wants and desires they crave and falling in love with each other along the way~

I loved everything about this book, usually multiple POVs is hard for me because I don’t enjoy certain characters inner dialogue. Somehow the writer is able to flush out these characters extremely well in a way where it all comes together to our main characters Priya, and Malini.

This book was amazing, I loved the world building and the slow paced romance between the two mains.

My criticism of this book was that it lagged on parts where lagging wasn’t necessary (if it ever is) it took me a while to finish but once I got hooked (towards the end) I was hooked. Also a theme I’ve noticed in wlw historical fantasy is that most times one of the love interests is ugly or very plain whilst the other is drop dead gorgeous why does this usually happen?
