I received Reboot in return for an honest review from the publisher HarperTeen via edelweiss. Wren has been a Reboot for 5 years working for the humans as mindless slave. She died from three gunshot wounds five years ago, they almost didn't think she would reboot but she did at 178 minutes which is rare. Since Wren is a higher number she doesn't have all the feelings and conflicts over killing humans or other reboots like the under sixty’s do.

As the new trainee’s for reboot training arrive Wren I received Reboot in return for an honest review from the publisher HarperTeen via edelweiss. As the new trainee’s for reboot training arrive Wren is drawn to 22 who are still close to human. She decides to take the risk but her new trainee isn't going to be easy, because he questions everything even refusing to kill putting them both at risk. As if Wren doesn't have enough to deal with her 22 she’s also dealing with a roommate who is losing it quickly. When Ever dies and Callum her 22 is at risk of being terminated Wren has to do something before it’s too late.

She reaches out to a human hoping he will be able to help the unlikely pair. He agrees under the condition they save his daughter who is also a reboot in Austin. Even with his help removing the trackers escaping the area won't be easy, thankfully the pair can take damage and heal. With his help the pair escapes into the darkness, heading off to save his daughter but before they can get her things for Callum aren't looking so good. When they reach the rebels they learn that his time is running out. Wren will have to risk it all to save Callum.

I really love Wren she’s smart but strong, yet on the inside she has her own issues, insecurities making her easy to relate to. I was able to connect with her, her story even if for a zombie is filled with emotions from heartache to love even hope for the future. I think Callum is perfect for her, his personality is relaxed taking his time and I felt that he really does see Wren for who she is not the scars she carries. I've always been a fan of Kick Ass Heroines and Wren fits the bill perfectly.

I was super excited to be approved for Reboot it’s been on my TBR list forever. The concept is instantly captivating it’s a unique twist on the zombie idea. I love that the author made the zombies more than mindless shambling bodies, they are still partially human. The story is filled with action, moments or horror, even a very sweet romance that mix to create a brilliant story. I had a hard time putting Reboot down it’s one of those books that just draws the reader in and doesn't let go till the last page. Then leaving you wanting more, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series since I loved Reboot so much! ...more

Review: Reboot b Amy Tintera At first glance Reboot is your typical popular dystopian story about what used to be America but was ravaged by disease, the government took over and had to rebuild itself. However, what you will find when you read this book is nothing like what you expected. We meet Wren Connolly, a 17 year old girl in the Republic of Texas, AKA 178. That number is how many minutes Wren was dead before her body was reanimated and she became what the title refers to, a reboot. Now these reboots are trained and controlled by the government agency HARC as a young police force. Everything seems legit enough, until Wren meets Callum, a boy that will change her life forever.I know what you are thinking, that's a lot to process. In fact, I agree with you but that's why I enjoyed this book so much. There was a lot to set up: a past country, a virus that pretty much makes zombies and of course our main characters previous life and the one that she lives in the course of the book. However, this author has done an amazing job of building of a world, developing characters and creating problems they have to overcome without losing anything within the story. I loved the back story to the world these characters lived in and wanted to know more about the world during the reboot rebellion and how we came to the present issues. If I love a book and still I'm looking for more information, that's a winner to me.The other part that was especially awesome to me was the growth of Wren throughout the book. It was a 365 page hard cover, and I felt like I went through about 1,000 pages with her. She went from cold and robot like to cracking that shell and seeing who she really was as a human not as a reboot. Through that growth we watched friendships tested and romance bloom, along with a change occur both on the inside of a character and on the outside in the world around her. That is A LOT to fit into a book and still not get muddled with vague story lines or cookie-cutter plot. This was a unique futuristic look into a world that isn't unlike our own and how a love can break any steady surface making it something special.

Needing to move away from the world of Romance and New Adult fiction which not to say is awful but it's whats cluttering our bookshelves ?
Try Amy Tintera's debut novel Reboot - set in a world which was a cross for me between The Hunt Trilogy by Andrew Fukuda and The Generation Dead Series by Daniel Waters. All around the states , children are dying everyday from either deaths of gunshots or dying of the disease KDH. Reboot is...in a word, disappointing.
It's premise is basically, "I'm a badassed killing machine...UNTIL...I meet a boy, fall in love, and discover my humanity."
What I want to know is...
Why?
Why is it that Wren, who is so tough in the beginning of this read that readers can't even be sure that she is indeed a girl, turns to mush when she meets the imperfect and almost human, but not quite...Callum. (I will delve into the almost human comment just a little later.)

Reset je zvláštní kniha. Hodně dobře a rychle se četl. Příběh se mi moc líbil, vadila mi jen jedna věc - to, že se Wren nechovala tak, jak měla. Uvítala bych víc studené a necitlivé Wren. A Callum potřebuje nutně píchnout testosteron.
