I so did not think I would love this retelling as much as I did! This is seriously one of my favorite retellings! I cannot wait to read the other books in this series. It took more forever to get into reading them because I tend to get a bit iffy about retellings but I am so ready for the rest of the Lunar Chronicles!

Marissa Meyer is from Tacoma, Washington which is the same city I live in. I think this pre-programmed me to enjoy Cinder, us Tacoma girls gotta stick together!
Cinder follows the story of a cyborg, named Cinder, in the city of New Beijing where there is a killer virus, evil lunar queen, and a swoony boy who happens to be a prince. See? It has everything you didn’t know you wanted to read about until now!

Right now, I'll only say that I absolutely loved this book, and not just cause I love Cinderella. I loved the characters, the world and the incredibly creative story line. And I just want to say that I LOVE IKO!
This is probably my favourite conversation in this book, I could not stop laughing:
CINDER: Do you think it could have virus?
IKO: Maybe her programming was overwhelmed by Prince Kai's uncanny hotness.
CINDER: Can we please not talk about the prince?
IKO: I don't think that will be possible. Y ...more

I struggled to get invested in Cinder's story, but I pushed through and am kinda glad that I did. I also thought that this story was very predictable and had guessed almost everything that had happened. It was a great story with a good premise.
And having read the next two books by now, they only get better as they go on. ...more

I am so glad I read Fairest first. What a story. I was struggling to get into this not because of the story, but because of the series I had read before. As I read it I began to get more and more involved with the characters. Unexpected events, sad moments, and what the heck moments fill this book. What an interesting play on a fairy tale. I can’t wait to read the next three.

The twist was a bit convenient, but enjoyable as a whole. I'm surprised the ending cutout the way it did. Oh well, guess I have to read the next one.
