Mixed feelings about the whole experience of reading this book. It really did feel like an experience. When I first started this book, most of the time I kept thinking...omgod how am I going to finish this, I just don't get it. Then I finally caught on but I felt like it was still taking too long. Then I started to get excited about it and read a little faster. Then I finished it and am still not completely satisfied. So all in all it was an experience. It was a difficult book to get through. It certainly was not light reading. I was determined to get through it. Maybe if I reread it i would get to truly appreciate its depth.

I think I might have liked this more if not for the cover. I'm a sucker for photos of abandoned houses/buildings, and this one was in the middle of a field, it was dark, etc. So there was just no way the book could arouse the same depth of feeling. I found it to be a very level book, the same pace all the way through. There were some moments I really did like, but I found the last 50 pages rather disappointing. ...more
