Kate Quinn pretty much had me from the first paragraph of this book. I was fascinated by her fictionalized portrayal of the life of Mila Pavlichenko. Mila Pavlichenko was a Russian Sniper during WW2. After recording over 300 official kills, she was part of a collection of Russian students who were sent to the United States to try and encourage them to become involved in a second front against the Germans. Once there she was taken under the wing of Eleanor Roosevelt.

I may pick this one up again in the future. Between it being YET ANOTHER World War II book (please, people! Other things besides World War II have happened in history) and what is going on in the real world with Russia and Ukraine, this just wasn't working for me. ...more
