I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the author.
I recently finished the first book in this prequel series and while ambitious in scope, it had some issues that I had mentioned in my review. Now, this book, the sequel - Children of the Ocean Serpent, is so much better. The scope of the book is not as grand with the first covering a much longer period of time. This book mostly covers the early reign of Korus, the second son of Kalligus, the first King.

I read The Millenium of the Ocean Serpent last summer and now, the author has released the next book of the series, The Children of the Ocean Serpent. I liked this book better than the first one I think because the characters are better developed. There are a lot of surprises and plot twists to keep the pages turning.
Again, there are many storylines to follow, not as many as in book one, but still a lot to keep track of. I think it could stand alone, as well, but I was glad that I had read book ...more
