The author has a great imagination, and showed in the ideas behind this collection of stories. Each story is unique, and reminiscent of old fashioned fairy tales, while at the same time providing new story lines. Unfortunately, frequent punctuation and grammar mistakes pulled down my ability to enjoy the stories, and despite colorful and childish illustrations, many stories had themes that I felt would be more suited for a more mature audience. This book twists old-fashioned fairytales to bring enjoyment to a new generation of children. The author uses favorites like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, adding wizards and magical castles. The theme of evil stepmothers and sisters runs through the tales. As with all fairytales, there is a happily ever after, except for the women who use magic for evil.
