I just finished the Arresting Onyx series and had to dive right into Dark Hearts Aflame to find out what happens next to my favorite characters! I love how this new series takes us in a new direction with the cartels, still in edgy romantic suspense, which Amber Daulton writes so well, but with a brand new setting that was really well done. I think the darkness in the book and its characters makes this my favourite so far. Bristol isn’t just a former gangster—he was also abused, and that shaped who he was and who he became. Carmen is fantastic and incredibly well drawn. Her life was tragic. The action kicks off right away, and it was great to see their relationship develop while on the run.
