In this tale about South American exploration, the author weaves the stories of explorer Percy Fawcett, some guy from the 90s who tried to track his fatal path, and the similar travels of the author. While Fawcett was an interesting character, he was misguided about what is important and real in life. The ending could have been revealed a bit sooner and given more prominence in the book, but anyway. And don't watch the movie - it's bad, doesn't follow the book, and misrepresents Fawcett.
