What Members Thought
3.5 stars. More atmospheric and complicated than taut, tense, thriller. I didn't know what to expect going in, other than to expect something that was somewhat more 'literary' than traditional spy-fare.
Keeping all of the characters straight and following the jargon was a challenge. I enjoyed the book more once I stopped trying to keep it all straight as I read, figuring that le Carre was likely going to explain it all to me in the end.
