4.5 stars. I very much enjoyed this read, particularly after switching to the audio version. I live in Iowa, though in a city quite a bit bigger than New Auburn. The midwestern feel of the book is spot on. From my time in small-town Wisconsin, limited and mostly when I was a child living in a village of 1000, the depiction is even more accurate for small-town Wisconsinites.
