Ok, so let’s start by saying this is better than book 2 of the series. But I wonder if Maas is a victim of her own success, which is why no-one reins her in? This book absolutely did not need to be the behemoth it is at well over 800 pages. I do still love her world building, plots and storytelling. It was mid. Point blank. The series on its own, makes it excellent. But to combine the multiverses? It sets up the next book of ACOTAR but other than that it was sorta useless. Some kinda info but that’s it. Compared to SJMs other series this was just okay. TOG had me bawling with the thirteen. ACOTAR was full of heart wrenching moments. This? This was all expected. Nothing BAM in your face that SJM is known for.
