Better than the first book, but the pacing was odd--I feel like this was a bit too long and could have been broken up into a third book, OR some of this could have gone into the first book, where there was very little action.
I think my biggest issue with this story is that I had a hard time understanding/believing Gideon's evolution from bigoted witch hunter to witch lover. It didn't seem step-wise or believable, and maybe that's just due to the current political climate. Regardless, this was a ...more
