The series as a whole is a 5-star read!!! Gideon and Rune are both strong characters who have to make hard choices and while I did was get frustrated with the lack of communication between them - at times, I also understand it’s hard to get words out sometimes and get it! I hoped for their happy ending but didn’t know how it would go!!! Book one built it all up so book 2 could fly!! Great story, low spice but great!!

Shelves: ya-fantasy

Like a moth to a flame, here I fluttered for this book. This book delivers on the enemies to lovers dynamic. The witch hunter hunting the witch who both vow to end the other…except they can’t stay away. The story was fast paced, full of adventures, and the slow burn is so delicious! I absolutely devoured it. I implore everyone to read this duology!

Such an amazing book!!! One of the best duets I’ve ever read. Gideon and Rune were the best.
I’m so sad this world is over. I’m going to miss it so much.
I can not go on enough about how good this one was.
Getting to see the culmination of everything and the world that was built was everything.

Couldn’t put it down! Great story, zero complaints. I was truly invested in the outcome and enjoyed how book 2 expanded the scope of the story and gave it more depth. 10/10

Solid book, in the concluding part of this very enjoyable series. I did feel it got lost in a few places and wasn’t quite as tight as the first book. But a satisfactory ending.
