"Happy birthday, Haymitch!"
The upside on being born on reaping day is that you can sleep late on your birthday. It's pretty much downhill from there. A day off school hardly compensates for the terror of the name drawing.

Sunrise on the Reaping tore my heart out and shredded it to pieces.

I finally read this book. I had been putting it off for a long time, but that I was finally going to start reading it in May. I don't usually pay attention to reviews before I start to read a book as I prefer going in a little bit blind. I know roughly what the book is about, but I don't look at reviews. But this is such a huge book release that it was impossible to avoid. I saw a few people online, especially on Book-Tok talking about the book and commenting that they were in tears by the end. ...more
